The call to Becoming Beloved Community is about building a movement.
We are called to follow Jesus in racial reconciliation, healing, and justice. It is our responsibility as disciplines and followers of Christ. And we need each other.
Last year, twenty-seven people from across our diocese said YES to this call. They joined a learning journey and committed to a community of practice. In this first phase of the learning journey, there was a focus on Truth-Telling; together, we explored the history of race and racism in our Church and in our worlds, locating our personal stories within those structures.
Listen to members of the community of practice share their stories of the journey below:
- Learning Journey, Our Story
- Rev. Canon Jane Gerdsen on Cultivating a Community of Practice and her hopes for what it might for us in our healing and justice work.
- John Eby and Rev. Mary Carson, St. James Episcopal, Cincinnati on how they applied their learning into their work in Westwood with Pub Theology
- Rev. Charles Graves on why he showed up for the learning journey, how he was moved by his experience, and his call to all of us to continue Becoming.
- Megan Johnson, from Church of Our Redeemer, Cincinnati shares how the door from which she enters, as a white woman, impacts her experience.
You are invited to join in building this movement!
