REVIEWING AND LOOKING FORWARD: PATHWAYS TO COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
August 4 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Part 5 in the series: Becoming Beloved Community: Understanding Racial Division in Springfield
Cherie Bridges Patrick is a social change coach/consultant specializing in helping people explore how we think and talk about racism. She reflects on the series and on ways of living into Beloved Community.
About the series: A consortium of Springfield congregations presents a six-part speaker series that combines sociological, theological, and historical perspectives in an effort to better understand the lived experience of racial identities in this part of the Miami Valley. Each event in the series will provide insights from experts in the field, offer opportunities for questions and discussion, and set aside time for dinner and fellowship.
All of the events begin at 4pm on consecutive Sundays at the Central Community Center (102 W. High St.), and most sessions will last around 90 minutes. The speaker portion will also be live streamed on the Facebook page “Becoming Beloved Community in Springfield.” Live streaming will make the information in the series more widely available and will also help registered participants follow the whole series even when they have schedule conflicts.
