Talk with Bill Pelke on the Death Penalty, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation

April 7 @ 4:00 pm

Bill Pelke is the co-founder of the Journey of Hope… From Violence to Healing, an organization led by murder victim family members who reject the death penalty. Bill originally supported the death penalty for the teenage girls who murdered his grandmother, but then he had an epiphany that led him to understand that his grandmother would never want that. He begged God to grant him love and compassion and through that he came to forgiveness. Bill is a powerful speaker whose primary messages are, from his experience, “the healing power of forgiveness,” and “The answer is love and compassion for all of humanity.” Bill speaks directly to the teachings of Jesus on these matters. His bio is here: https://www.journeyofhope.org/who-we-are/murder-victim-family/bill-pelke/

Coupled with the presentation will be a brief update on capital punishment in Ohio, as well as efforts to better serve the needs of homicide survivors (families and friends of murder victims) in our state.
