Finding Comfort in Discomfort: Identity. Power. Privilege. Finding My Place and Respecting Yours

October 12, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

This is a one-day Symposium and a collaboration of St. Matthew’s, Otterbein University and the Martin LutherKing Legacy Project Community Conversations program.

The featured speaker is Daniel Juday who will make a presentation about making space for identity and cultural differences helping attendees to find themselves on an “Identity Wheel” so they will quickly see where they are and what power and privilege they are afforded.

Next will be a panel of 5 people who will share their stories to give voice and reality to different identities and cultures. They will address questions like, “What is your experience being LGBTQIA/Immigrant/White.Male/African American Male/Black Generation Z in Westerville and what do people need to know to be more culturally proficient? How do we support and be an ally for your experience?

Location: Otterbein University; details coming.
